Fishing Report

  I had to work on Saturday so I didn't have time to run up to the "Hot ditch" to try for Speckled Trout. I'm sure that Saturday would have been an excellent day since it was nasty weather. I did manage to go behind the "Wings cantena" in Great Bridge and catch a few legal size specks while casting from shore. Sunday the weather was great and we caught a total of 11 good keeper fish from about 4:30p to dark. We were tossing mirror lures and berkley gulp baits. These were caught in the river away from the ditch. I think the ditch is still a little too warm for the trout.

  This is my nine pound two once tautog. It was caught at the bay bridge. We Left the dock around 8:20 am. The weather was great, winds 5-7 miles an hour out of the west and the sun was shining. The bait of the day was blue crab. The fish started biting around 11:00 and the second fish I caught was the biggest fish of the day. We were back at the dock at 4:30pm. The grand total for the day was 20 nice tautogs.

  I have found that Basspro.com has the best selection as well as prices on tackle. I ususally order online but I do enjoy browsing the store in person.
